A Triple Celebration for Michelle Sidwell Academy of Dance

It’s been an extraordinary year for Michelle Sidwell Academy of Dance, marked by a series of prestigious awards that recognise excellence, leadership, and the lasting impact the school continues to make within the performing arts community.
We are proud to share that the academy has received the Award of Excellence 2025, Influential Woman in Business 2025, and the SME Greater London Enterprise Award for Best Youth Performing Arts & Dance Academy 2025 – South East London. Each award celebrates a different aspect of what makes our school special, from the dedication of our teaching team to the strength of Michelle’s leadership and the passion of every dancer who steps through our doors.
The Award of Excellence acknowledges outstanding performance and consistency within our industry. To receive this recognition for a second consecutive year is an incredible achievement and a testament to the high standards our entire team strives to uphold. It reflects not only the quality of our training but the sense of community, creativity, and discipline that defines Michelle Sidwell Academy of Dance.
The Influential Woman in Business Award is a deeply personal honour for Michelle. It celebrates her leadership, vision, and commitment to creating opportunities for young people through the performing arts. Michelle’s journey, from her early training at The Urdang Academy and professional performances with companies such as The Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet, to building one of the region’s most respected dance schools — continues to inspire students and families alike. Her recognition in this category highlights her dedication not only as a teacher but as a businesswoman who has built a thriving, supportive environment for hundreds of young performers.
Our third accolade, the SME Greater London Enterprise Award, recognises the academy’s contribution to youth performing arts across South East London. This award shines a light on our mission to nurture talent, celebrate creativity, and maintain excellence both in the classroom and on stage.
These three awards together reflect the heart of what we do: inspire confidence, develop skill, and offer every student the chance to experience the joy of performing at their best.
