Classical ballet - Year 4 Upwards
Ages 8yrs - 18yrs (Please see combined class for ages 4-7yrs)
Our Classical ballet classes follow the ISTD syllabus. As the foundation of all dance styles, Ballet classes will teach posture, grace, poise and good technique. Classical music is used as well as modern music to ensure that the lessons although structured remain fun for all pupils.
This is an ISTD Examination class and pupils aged 6years+ may be entered for examinations once they reach the required standard.
Pointe Work is introduced once pupils have reached at least 12yrs and Grade 5 Ballet and have sufficient strength in their legs and ankles. We introduce Demi-pointe classes at age 11yrs and Grade 4 Ballet to prepare pupils for pointe work.
